Counting the unhoused, one night in January.

To fix a problem, you have to know the size of it. And when it comes to homelessness, that means counting the number of people who are unhoused to get the best possible estimate and that, an actual count, happens once a year. I produced this story for a wonderful Chicago suburban organization that fights homelessness. Learn about how suburban homelessness looks different from urban homelessness, and why the annual Point-in-Time Count is so important—particularly from a man who was finally counted.
